PASTOR'S NEW YEAR MESSAGEDear Parishioners“Let your heart be filled with love and kindness, for these are the true treasures of life”. this is one of the quotes attributed to St. Martin de Porres, the patron of our parish. And so, I unite my voice with his and ask that, especially as we walk into the New Year 2025, we Let our hearts be filled with love and kindness, for these are the true treasures of life. we have many reasons for this, one of which is that God has shown us His tremendous love and kindness since we came together as one parish. He has manifested His loving presence among us and in His kindness has helped us, through His graces, to navigate the initial challenges we faced and have grown stronger together as One Eucharistic Family.As your pastor, in ways that words cannot describe, my heart is filled with love joy, and happiness. When I look back to our journey this past 6 months, I cannot but thank God for all of you. In many ways, you have exercised patience and supported me in this unique pastoral ministry. I must admit that as an imperfect man, I must have made decisions that some of you did not agree with, yet you bore with me and sacrificed to move on with it for the betterment of our parish. From my heart, I say thank you! I promise to keep being your faithful pastor and shepherding you with all the love in my heart.Our first 6 months were in the last half of the year 2024. Against all odds, we recorded tremendous success in different areas thanks to your cooperation with me. Our success in that short period was a result of team spirit, enthusiasm, and excitement. I won't be able to list these successes one by one here because they are numerous. All I can say is that looking back, we all should see the reasons to be proud of ourselves. The Lord is with us. The effect of the intercession of Our Patron St. Martin de Porres on our behalf is real. And I do not underestimate your courageous support for the parish in different ways including your financial supportNow that our journey has brought us into this New Year 2025, first I would like you to join me in thanking God for this special gift of bringing us from 2024 into 2025. Second, as we begin this New Year, may I suggest that we renew our resolve to remain faithful Christians, members of the Church, and loving members of St Martin de Porres Parish. Is there an area we have been doing so well in the previous year, let’s keep them up. Are there areas that need work and improvement, this new year is an opportunity to do something about them. On this note, I humbly wish to call your attention to our religious duty of supporting the parish. Many of you did so well in the past year and that was very helpful. May I humbly ask those who can, to please consider increasing your weekly giving this NEW YEAR to help with the effective running of the parish so that we don’t risk going into debt as a parish.Finally, as we are entering the tax season too, if you would like a letter from me to claim a tax return on your contribution with IRS, please do not hesitate to call the office. Parents Group – Feb 9th Gathering
We will have a Superbowl Watch Party on Sunday February 9th. This is a community-building event for parents, their peers and, of course, their children!
We will project the game on the big screen in the gym. Bring a side dish to share!
We will gather in the gym at 5:00pm on Sunday, February 9th. Kickoff is at 5:30pm.
It is important that we get a dependable headcount so please register your family members.
Future Parents Group dates: Friday, March 21st and Saturday, April 26th. Save the dates!!
